A Mutual Cooperation Agreement for the renovation of the emblematic cinema "ELEFSIS" and its transformation into a multi-purpose cultural and artistic event venue was signed by the company HELLENIC PETROLEUM - a subsidiary of the HELLENiQ ENERGY Group - the Municipality of Elefsina and the Municipal Monoprosopi S.A. "2023 Elefsis Cultural Capital of Europe". The special ceremony for the sealing of the agreement took place on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the "X Bowling Art Center" in Elefsina.
HELLENIC PETROLEUM in addition to the other initiatives it implemented as the Major Sponsor of the "2023 Elefsis Cultural Capital of Europe", undertook the financing of the renovation project of the "ELEFSIS" cinema, which is a historical landmark for the cultural and social life of the city. The funding includes covering the cost of the required studies, as well as the renovation works of the cinema, which will be carried out under the supervision and supervision of the Cultural Capital Organization and in collaboration with the Municipality of Elefsina.
It is an emblematic project which, having the appropriate infrastructure, will provide a modern option to be a meeting point and development of the city's cultural activities. This is a particularly demanding and ambitious project, for which the HELLENIC PETROLEUM company is in full agreement and ongoing consultation with the Municipal Authority and the Cultural Capital, in order to carry out all the required actions in time and for the project to be completed within 2023, with the aim of hosting events of the Elefsina Cultural Capital of Europe 2023.
