By upgrading to Gold Sponsor status, HELLENiQ ENERGY strengthens its long-standing support for the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, a relationship that began in 2018. In 2021, the company became the Committee’s Grand Sponsor. The announcement of this renewed collaboration and elevation to Gold Sponsor was made on Thursday, December 5, at a special event at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall. The event was attended by members of HELLENiQ ENERGY’s leadership team, the Paralympic Committee, Paralympians, other distinguished athletes, government officials, local authorities, media representatives, and numerous guests.

During his speech, Spilios Livanos, Chairman of the Board of Directors at HELLENiQ ENERGY, remarked: “HELLENiQ ENERGY’s upgrade to Gold Sponsor of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee is not only a great honor but also a profound commitment to the principles of equality and inclusion. We hold immense admiration for the incredible efforts of our athletes with disabilities, who overcome daily challenges to achieve greatness. This strengthened partnership is our way of expressing gratitude to these extraordinary individuals, who inspire us all and lead the way toward a society where diversity is not a barrier but a source of strength and progress”.

Deputy Sports Minister Giannis Vroutsis highlighted: “HELLENiQ ENERGY’s sponsorship of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, backed by the company’s strong reputation and significant social impact, ensures the continued growth of the Paralympic movement in Greece. While the State lays the foundation for sports development, partnerships with the private sector are essential for its success. Congratulations to the HELLENiQ ENERGY team, particularly CEO Andreas Shiamishis, for their steadfast dedication to supporting sports, as demonstrated by their title sponsorship of the iconic Acropolis Rally, and even more so for their commitment to fostering equality and opportunities for athletes with disabilities”.

George Kapellakis, President of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, added: “Our participation in the Paris Paralympics marked one of the most successful performances in our history, both on and off the field. Throughout this journey, HELLENiQ ENERGY stood by our side – not just as a major sponsor and not only throughout the qualification and preparation for the Paris Paralympics but as an unwavering supporter in the stands, sharing our athletes’ emotions and celebrating our successes. As we look ahead to the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, a new Paralympic cycle begins. As we say in sports, “you don’t change a winning team”. The Hellenic Paralympic Committee and HELLENiQ ENERGY will continue their successful partnership for the next four years, providing vital support to the Greek paralympic team. I would like to personally thank HELLENiQ ENERGY and CEO Andreas Shiamishis, who we now consider part of our team, for awarding us another ‘gold medal’—their Gold Sponsorship for the next four years on our road to Los Angeles”.

Through its multifaceted Corporate Responsibility program, HELLENiQ ENERGY actively promotes sportsmanship among youth and people with disabilities. By organizing initiatives that highlight fair play and showcase sports as a healthy outlet, the company underscores the important contributions of Paralympians in creating a more inclusive society, free from discrimination.

As part of this commitment and in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, HELLENiQ ENERGY and the Hellenic Paralympic Committee hosted the “Paralympic Panorama” at the Ioannis Vellidis Conference Center. This educational and interactive event welcomed more than 400 primary school students from Thessaloniki, giving them the opportunity to explore Paralympic sports, engage with distinguished athletes, and embrace the values of inclusion, acceptance, and diversity.
The event showcased 14 Paralympic sports, such as boccia, wheelchair basketball, athletics, taekwondo, archery, shooting, judo, goalball, and cycling. Students were encouraged to actively participate, attend a specialized seminar contacted by expert nutritionists, and learn about the history of the Paralympic Games, the challenges athletes face, and how sports can break down barriers and serve as a healthy outlet for all.

Notably, as 2024 marks a Paralympic year, HELLENiQ ENERGY has also organized various events to raise public awareness. In collaboration with the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, the company carried out targeted initiatives to provide meaningful support to the paralympic team representing Greece at the world’s premier sporting event. The company remains steadfast in support for these athletes, who, ethos, perseverance, and resilience serve as a testament that “dreams know no bounds” inspiring society.
