HELLENiQ ENERGY's Board of Directors has approved the implementation of a 10 million euros program of actions, which will contribute to the recovery of economic and social activity in Thessaly.
The program will include projects related to widely used infrastructure to speed up the reconstruction of the areas, as well as actions to support vulnerable social groups in view of the winter season. A key action will also be to assist in the restoration of damaged main roadways to ensure the necessary infrastructure for the movement of residents, the smooth movement of goods and services, and the support of local entrepreneurship.
The overall program of actions will be determined in cooperation with the State, as well as the co-competent Ministries and local Authorities and Bodies, in order to maximise its effectiveness. The actions will be implemented directly by HELLENiQ ENERGY, while some initiatives will be implemented in cooperation with other members of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV).
It should be noted that HELLENiQ ENERGY rushed from the first moment to the side of those affected in the greater region of Thessaly and, in cooperation with the Hellenic Red Cross, distributed food and basic necessities, even through its network of fuel stations.
HELLENiQ ENERGY has undertaken similar actions to support the society in the recent past. Both during the health crisis, for the shielding of the National Health System and the purchase of critical medical equipment, and during the major fires in 2021 and 2023, with the implementation of large-scale anti-corrosion projects. Moreover, the Company's assistance was immediate after the unprecedented flood in Mandra in 2017 and the devastating fire in Mati, Attica in 2018.
In a statement, the CEO of HELLENiQ ENERGY, Mr. Andreas Shiamishis, pointed out: “HELLENiQ ENERGY has always been a company that stands by society. It is a given that in such critical moments, cooperation is required from everyone. In the challenging situations that Thessaly is going through, the assistance we will offer through various actions of immediate support and also infrastructure restoration will contribute to addressing the problem."
