The “HUMAN RIGHTS FOR BEGINNERS” programme, which the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group proudly sponsored, was concluded with the awards presentation after a two-day long educational workshop and ideas presentation. The first award was presented to the team with the idea "You are not alone...Lisa" and the prize was given by the Corporate Social Responsibility Director of the HELLENIC PETROLEUM Group Mrs. Rania Soulaki along with the OAED Governor and Chairman of the BoD Mr. Spyros Protopsaltis.
The "HUMAN RIGHTS FOR BEGINNERS" programme, which comprises two phases with its starting point being a two-day educational workshop session that took place in Athens on the 25th and 26th of January 2020 at the University of Athens’ Marasleio Didaskaleio and the Moraitis School. The session included presentations held by experts of the Council of Europe and workshops led by experienced facilitators in the field of education. 120 participating educators, from 82 schools around Greece, attended six thematic workshops aiming at initiating and training them on crucial for the school community topics.
During the two-day seminar, very innovative and interesting suggestions were presented by the participants, all with a common focus on promoting democracy in our educational system. The award-winning idea will be soon be implemented in many schools across Greece.
The winning team of the competition was awarded for the most innovative and implementable idea in raising students' awareness on human rights.
